Corporate social responsibility
Our responsibility
Our purpose is to deliver better health for everyone.
Taking a considerate approach
We are aware that changing our business to become greener, more sustainable or better for communities isn’t the end of the story. For every action, there is a reaction and we take a considerate approach to make sure that everything we do is the best possible solution for the communities we serve.
- We will always consider the wide ranging impacts of our decisions and the affect they have on the communities we serve.
- We will always report on our CSR activity with honesty and transparency.
- We won’t claim to have all the answers or be overly triumphant. We know there’s always more to do.
- We will always consult with our customers, colleagues and partners to make sure we have considered as many perspectives as possible.
Product quality and patient safety
Because the safety and well-being of our customers are always our top priority.
Eco-efficient operations and transportation
We are constantly reviewing and optimising our processes to minimise our environmental impact.
Better health for our employees and communities
We are a team of healthcare experts and together we are committed to helping people live healthier lives.
United against dementia
We are committed to helping the 850,000 people in the UK living with dementia, as well as their families and carers. That’s why we partner with Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer Scotland.
With over 1,300 pharmacies across the UK, our expertise in healthcare and presence within communities, means we’re ideally positioned to raise awareness of dementia and improve access to information, advice and services.
Since our partnership began in April 2015, we’ve raised over £850,000 to fund dementia research projects and advisors. We’ve held bake sales, dressed up, even climbed mountains and cycled across Europe for the cause.
We’ve also created over 34,000 Dementia Friends, giving our colleagues a better understanding of how they can help support dementia patients and their carers. We consider this an integral part of our training, and we wear the forget-me-not logo with pride. From helping dementia patients get the right medicine to providing help to a carer, our teams demonstrate their support for the initiative every day.
Our partnership with Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer Scotland reflects our corporate vision of better health for all. It also truly resonates with our ICARE values and we’re proud to give our time and resources to contribute to the search for a cure.
